The Susan Wylie Award

The Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association honors the spirit of panhellenic – unity, sisterhood and community service – through the Susan Wylie Award.

Susan Hamner Wylie was instrumental to the Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association, as a leader in the organization and sorority recruitment.  An alumnus of Alpha Phi, she devoted countless hours to ensuring that young women in the Tyler area had the opportunity to learn about the benefits of sorority membership and the process of joining a sorority.

In addition to membership recruitment activities, the Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association also provides women with the opportunity to maintain lifelong friendships and personal support through alumnae activities and networking programs.

Susan, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in 2011, is the inaugural recipient of the Susan Wylie Award.  In loving memory of Susan and in tribute to other women who make a significant impact to Panhellenic, nominations for the Susan Wylie Award will be accepted by the Tyler Area Alumnae Panhellenic Association.  The award will be presented at the Tyler Panhellenic Preview held during the spring at The University of Texas at Tyler.
